Who won Foodapalooza?

Castanet readers care – and so do Kelowna businesses.

Over the course of the summer, dozens of businesses challenged each other to be creative and donate to the Central Okanagan Food Bank.

The Foodapalooza campaign brought in more than $12,900 and 3,400 pounds of food.

We challenged businesses to come up with a fun video promoting the cause and challenging other businesses to join in.

We've had time to review them all, and one lucky winner will receive a $5,000 advertising package on Castanet. Watch the video above to find out who won.

"The videos were great, and choosing a winner wasn't easy," said Castanet director of content Jon Manchester.

The food bank's Tammy Jackson said: "I have 135 businesses recorded from Foodapalooza nominations, and now that the campaign is closed, I will be connecting with them all."

Meanwhile, the food bank has re-launched its popular One Bag Challenge, which began in 2016 with a challenge from Mayor Colin Basran.

To take part:

  • Post a picture or video on Facebook of you donating.
  • Nominate five friends, tagging them and reminding them they have 48 hours to donate in person or online at cofoodbank.com
  • Add #OneBagChallenge2.0 to your post
  • Enjoy watching your five people do the same!
