Postill fire extinguished

UPDATE: 6 p.m.

A passing landscaper helped put out the fire with a shovel and rake he had in the back of his truck.

The worker from High Country Property Maintenance apparently had the fire mostly out by the time firefighters arrived.


UPDATE: 3:03 p.m.

Fire crews report they have a small Postill Lake Road grass fire extinguished.

The fire was burning along the roadside, down an embankment.

It was roughly three metres square in size.

Additional crews have been advised to stand down.


UPDATE: 2:58 p.m.

Fire crews have arrived on scene and are reporting a small fire burning down an embankment.

Additional crews are en route.


ORIGINAL: 2:50 p.m.

A small grass fire has been reported off Postill Lake Road, northeast of Kelowna.

The fire is said to be three by three metres in size.

Fire crews have been dispatched to scene.
