Rider pinned under truck

A motorcyclist was sent to hospital after becoming trapped under a pickup Friday in Kelowna.

Emergency crews responded to the collision just after 10 a.m. on Highway 33, near Roxby Road.

Witnesses told police the rider was doing wheelies and other tricks right before the crash.

The 27-year-old Alberta man had to be extracted by emergency crews and was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

“The motorcyclists’ injuries could have been even more serious, had he not been wearing proper full riding and safety gear,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
