Bakery truck torched

Police are looking for two men who torched a Specialty Bakery truck early Wednesday morning.

A company employee says two men, possibly teenagers, were seen peering through the windows of the garage doors at about 4 a.m. at the bakery on Finns Road.

She says an employee, unaware of the intruders, had gone to the front of the store.

"By the time she went back at 4:15, the truck was in flames. They lit the truck on fire. It was loaded with our product," the employee said.

She said the employee was getting more product ready to be loaded into the vehicle. She said the employee is lucky she wasn't inside the truck at the time.

A Good Samaritan in the neighbourhood helped extinguish the blaze before the fire department arrived.

A house on the other side of the loading dock was not affected by the fire.

Video surveillance has been turned over to the RCMP.

Specialty Bakery is now reduced to two rental vans for deliveries.

The employee said the other regular delivery van is in for repairs.

Nobody was injured in the fire.
