A cyclist was hurt late Friday afternoon when he was hit by a car.
Just after 4 p.m. emergency crews responded to a report of a collision involving a cyclist and vehicle at the intersection of Richter Street and Patterson Avenue.
Witnesses at the scene told police that a grey Mazda 3 was turning left on Richter when it struck a cyclist who had been crossing.
The cyclist, a Kelowna man in his 60s, was transported to hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
"Investigators believe that reduced visibility due to the sun, may have played a role in the incident," says Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.
O'Donaghey reminded drivers to take extra precautions when visibility is limited.
"Use your vehicle's visor or wear sunglasses," he said.
