A Kelowna production house has released the pilot of a new reality TV show that digs into the Okanagan construction industry.
CASSstruction captures the emotions and drama between brother and sister Dustin and Cassidy DeVeer at the family run construction company 3rd Generation Homes.
Render Digital Media produced the show.
“Canadians are changing the way they watch TV,” says producer Pamela Tomlinson. “We’ve seen unprecedented growth in online video streaming platforms, made possible by contributions from filmmakers and content creators.”
A Telefilm Canada study recently found viewership of videos, including web series and shorts, has increased by 15 per cent, with 75 per cent of Canadians now saying they watch non-traditional content.
“Building your dream home is exciting, emotional and not without its moments of drama, and Pam and her team have captured that all,” Cassidy says of the unscripted and candid pilot.
The online release gives locals a sneak peek as developments at McKinley Beach and The Creeks take shape.
Render Digital also produced the three-part program The Canadian Culinary Championships, available online and on Telus Optik, and is in development on another original series for the Telus on-demand platform.
