Strange Walmart incident

The Kelowna RCMP responded to reports of a man trying to set his car on fire in the Walmart parking lot, Saturday evening.

According to Sgt. Brad Swecera, the man, who was from Quebec, was frustrated with his car and his life and made references to lighting the vehicle on fire.

A bilingual officer sent to the scene was able to calm him down, and there was no fire and no arrests made, Swecera said.

Nor was there any threat to the public.

It did cause concern, however, for people who were in the parking lot at the time.
