Your say on military

Dan Albas wants your input on the type of military Canada needs.

The Central Okanagan – Similkameen – Nicola MP will be hosting a National Defence Round Table on July 27 to hear from his constituents on their suggestions for the military and possible concerns with Canada's current security.

“What do you think are the main challenges to Canada’s security? Do you believe Canada is doing enough to address threats at home and abroad?” asks Albas.

The Department of National Defence and the Government of Canada have been promoting public consultations all summer long to hear from Canadians.

Albas feels the public deserves the opportunity to contribute to the outcome of a new national-defence policy.

“A number of issues will be discussed during the meeting, including the main challenges to Canada’s security, the role of the Canadian Armed Forces in addressing current threats and challenges, and resource and capability requirements to carry out the CAF mandate.”

The round table is being held July 27 at 7 p.m. at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend, RSVP or pre-registration is not required.
