A pricey place to rent

Kelowna is the nation's eleventh most expensive city for renters.

Pad Mapper, a website that lists available rental units across the country, has recently released its first ever Canada Rent Report, a ranking of the median price of one-bedroom and two-bedroom rentals across the country.

The median price for one-bedroom rentals in Kelowna, based off data from May 2016, is $900, while the median price for two-bedrooms is $1,360.

These prices have actually increased from the previous month, by 1.1 per cent for the one-bedroom rentals and 1.5 per cent for two-bedrooms.

Not surprisingly, Vancouver took the top spot when it came to expensive rental, boasting a median one-bedroom monthly rental price of $1,700 and a two-bedroom median price of a whopping $2,780.

Toronto came in as the second most expensive city for renters, followed by Victoria.
