Flashbacks closing for good

A long time fixture of Kelowna’s nightlife scene will be closing its doors for good next weekend, just months after finishing a complete renovation.

For 27 years, Flashbacks Nightclub has served as one of the top places to get down in Kelowna for generations of patrons, but its popularity has declined in recent years.

A complete overhaul of the bar was completed last summer, which, among other things, removed the club’s infamous carpeted area.

It would appear the renovations did not have the desired effect.

“With a humble heart and gratitude the Flashbacks team has decided that this weekend will be our last time opening the doors before shutting them for good,” reads a post on Flashback’s Facebook page. “We chose to close not for any specific reason, but a combination of factors and the management team has decided that it would be best to leave on a high note, on our own terms.”

For those looking for one last kick at the Flashbacks dance floor, Chingy will be performing on May 27, and Evita Versace will be playing on May 28.
