Gas prices climbing

Gas prices are jumping up in the Central Okanagan again, with pumps hitting 106.9 cents per litre at some stations in Kelowna.

After reaching the mid 80-cent range early this year, prices have been holding steady in the mid-90 cents per litre range for the past couple of weeks.

Prices remain at 95.9 cents per litre at several stations in town, including the Mohawk at Sexsmith Road and Highway 97 and the Esso at Harvey Avenue and Spall Road.

According to gasbuddy.com, stations in Vernon, Penticton remain below a dollar per litre for now, while some stations in Kamloops have reached 102.9 cents per litre.

The price of crude oil has been slowly climbing since Feb. 11, when it reached a low of $26.21 cents per barrel.

Crude oil is currently selling at $36.27 per barrel.
