Layoffs at Club Penguin

A Disney Interactive Club Penguin spokesperson confirms several employees were laid off from the company in Kelowna, Friday.

The spokesperson could not say how many people had lost their jobs. However, a Castanet news source claims there were 28 staff let go from management positions.

The notice was issued Friday, although it is unclear if the layoffs affected any other Disney Interactive offices. Reports indicate it’s possible there could be layoffs at the branch in Glendale, Calif.

The Disney spokesperson would not confirm any other reports, and said no other information would be released.
