Punch may have killed man

Friends and family of a man who died in hospital after he was beaten outside Cactus Club have taken to Facebook.

“One punch later he ended up on life support,” wrote one family member.

Zachary Gaudette, 30, of Ontario was taken to hospital following an altercation outside of the Cactus Club on Feb. 17, 2016 and later succumbed to his injuries.

Friends and family took to Facebook to mourn his loss, but are also seeking justice.

“A life taken too soon because of a senseless act of violence. I hope the person responsible is held accountable,” wrote one friend.

“Looks like someone will be up on manslaughter charges. All I can do is cry but I guess it's good to get it all out,” added a family member.

Police are still investigating the incident and have released few details about the actual circumstances – police are seeking people who witnessed the altercation.

“Investigators believe that there are additional witnesses who were at the Cactus Club restaurant at the time of the incident, and who have not yet come forward to police,” said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey in a statement.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the RCMP at 250-470-6236.
