Patrick Chan on local ice

The two time, silver medal winning Olympian, was in town to show off his skills and teach some lucky local kids in multiple seminars.

The Kelowna Skating Club invited Chan to come give the seminars to their students on their 'jumping' skills.

Skaters from the Winfield Skating Club and the Mt. Boucherie Skating Club were also invited to take part in the once-in-a-lifetime training event.

Many of the young teen girls seemed to swoon seeing their idol perform. Chan even took the time to skate along the bench of ladies and take selfies with them all.

After he showed off his skills to the crowded stands of fans and parents, the skaters were split into three groups who would get one-on-one time with the professional skater Saturday afternoon.

Earlier Saturday, Chan worked with another group of skaters at the Capital News Centre rink.
