The RCMP continues to assist the BC Coroners Service in the investigation.

Original story -- Dec. 13

Casorso Road is closed in Kelowna Saturday night, after the body of a man was discovered in a burning truck.

According to RCMP on the scene, the man’s body was found by the Kelowna Fire Department when they arrived in response to a call of a burning vehicle.

A block of Casorso Road, from Barrera Road to Bechard Road, in front of Casorso Elementary School, has been cordoned off for much of the evening.

The BC Coroner was on the scene Saturday night just before 9 p.m.

RCMP say they are investigating the cause of death and at this point do not know why the man was in the vehicle or how the truck ignited.

We will have more details as they become available.
