Man's body identified in Rutland

RCMP have now identified the body found early Saturday morning on a Rutland sidewalk and are asking for the publics help figuring out what happened. 

Christopher Ausman, 32, of Kelowna was found deceased lying on the pavement in the 100 block of Highway 33 West.

The death was deemed to be suspicious in nature and the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating.

RCMP Cst. Kris Clark says the public's help is needed to figure out what exactly happened in the time leading up to his death, "Investigators look to the public for help in determining the final moments of Ausman."

Family and friends have set up a memorial page on Facebook for Ausman.

He is being described throughout social media as a devoted father, a loyal friend and an outgoing person. 

Anyone with information regarding this incident or who had been in contact with Christopher Ausman during the evening of January 24, 2014 and early morning hours of January 25, 2014 is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP Tip Line at 250-470-6236.
