City of Kamloops inviting applications for climate action grants
Apply for climate funding
City of Kamloops is now accepting applications for 2026 climate action grants.
The program encourages Kamloops residents, non-profit organizations and charities to apply for grant funding for community-based climate action projects.
The initiative is seeking projects that support priority actions in the City's Community Climate Action Plan, have the potential to reduce community greenhouse gas emissions, enhance community resilience and support a healthy urban ecosystem.
“The goal is to empower citizens and community groups with resources to deliver projects that foster a climate-friendly community,” said Jaimi Garbutt, the city’s sustainability educator.
According to the city, $20,000 from the climate action reserve will be allocated toward grants of up to $2,000.
Applicants must demonstrate how the proposed project benefits the community, supports the Community Climate Action Plan, reduces emissions and fosters community wellness or pride.
The 2025 Climate Action Grant supported 14 projects including pollinator gardens, waste reduction initiatives and shade trees.
Jan. 16 is the last day to submit applications for 2026 grants. For more details or to apply, click here.
