Snowfall warning covers Kamloops, North Thompson and Cariboo

City snowfall warning

Kamloops is under a snowfall warning on Tuesday, with Environment Canada forecasts calling for 10 to 15 centimetres of snow between now and Wednesday morning.

According to the warning, heavy snow and high winds could combine to create poor travel conditions.

“A low pressure system will approach the south coast today and will spread snow to the Interior overnight,” Environment Canada said in the warning.

“Total snowfall amounts approaching 10 with up to 15 cm locally are expected before the snow eases by Wednesday morning. Gusty winds and the heavy snow may give poor visibility at times.”

A winter storm warning remains in place for the Coquihalla Highway, as well as the Okanagan Connector.
