No injuries after boy's shoe run over by Santa Claus Parade float

Boy OK after parade scare

No injuries were reported after a child appeared to have been run over Sunday by a float in the Santa Claus Parade on Victoria Street.

Dearborn Ford general manager Justin Grover said as his son was taking part in the dealership’s float, he tripped and fell while handing out candy. Grover said the boy had his shoe run over by the float — thankfully nothing more than that.

He said his son had a scrape on his ankle but no other injuries. He was taken to hospital and checked out as a precaution.

“In the dark it probably looked like a kid got run over by the float but it was really just a trip and fall,” he told Castanet Kamloops.
