A driver who suffered serious injuries when the vehicle he was driving collided with a lumber truck in Rayleigh was not wearing his seatbelt, police believe.
Emergency crews were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Old Highway 5 in Rayleigh just after 10 p.m. on Sept. 16.
According to police, a car turned left onto Old Highway 5 and into the path of a southbound tractor trailer loaded with lumber.
Mounties said the truck flipped into the ditch and its driver received minor injuries. The sole occupant of the car was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Police said initial indications are that the driver of the car was not wearing a seatbelt.
