Suspects sought after duo bear-sprayed on Tranquille Road

Bear spray used in attack

Police are searching for suspects after an attempted robbery on the North Shore last weekend in which suspects deployed bear spray on two victims.

Kamloops Mounties said they were called to a stretch of the 400-block of Tranquille Road just before 5 a.m. on July 16 for a report of an assault.

“Police arrived to find two people who alleged they had been bear sprayed by three to four Caucasian men who pulled up in a white Honda truck and demanded one of them give them their bike,” RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.

“One of the victims also reported being punched.”

Evelyn said investigators made patrols in the area but did not locate any suspects.

Anyone with information can call police at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
