Everything you need to know about the city's Canada Day festivities in Riverside Park

Celebrate Canada Day

It's Canada Day — and, for the first time in three years, you can celebrate alongside thousands of others at Riverside Park.

The event kicks off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Lions Club. That runs through 10:30 a.m., when the opening ceremonies for the Canada Day party will take place at the Rotary Bandshell.

Art in the Park will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Kamloops Multicultural Society’s international food fair will start at 10:30 a.m. and run until 5:30 p.m.

Folkfest cultural and community performances will grace the bandshell stage between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Music in the Park will kick off as part of the festivities, featuring performances by Sabrina Weeks, Richard Graham and the Blackbeats and Shattered Blue.

Transit is free on Canada Day and those riding bikes to the park can make use of a bicycle valet inside the Riverside Park tennis courts.

The City of Kamloops has previously said it expects about 30,000 people to attend. There will be no fireworks display this year due to concerns about fire safety.
