Weapons and drugs seized from cargo van in downtown Kamloops, police say

Police say a stun gun, fighting axe, knives and drugs were confiscated from a cargo van on Columbia Street on Tuesday night.

According to Kamloops RCMP, an officer was parked near 4th Avenue at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday when he saw a cargo van being driven by a woman who was suspected to be a prohibited driver.

“The officer conducted a vehicle stop and arrested the woman for driving while suspended, then impounded the vehicle for seven days,” RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.

Police said they found a stun gun, fighting axe, knives and small containers of drugs inside the vehicle, which were seized for destruction.
