A report of a woman packing a handgun in a downtown store resulted in an arrest on Tuesday, police say.
Mounties said they were called to a store in the 400-block of Lansdowne Street just after 6 p.m. for a report of an intoxicated woman inside a store with a handgun in her bag.
“Police arrested the woman without incident, at which point they located a realistic-looking BB gun pistol, a knife and drugs, all of which were seized,” RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.
“Police checks revealed the woman was also wanted on a warrant related to numerous firearms offences.”
Evelyn said the woman, in her 40s, remains in custody.
