Refugee group plans fundraiser ahead of potential influx of people fleeing violence in Ukraine

A Kamloops group aimed at welcoming and supporting refugees is organizing a fundraiser ahead of a potential influx of Ukrainians.

Refugees and Friends Together Kamloops (RAFT) will stage a take-home Colombo Lodge dinner on March 16, with proceeds going toward the group.

According to a posting on EventBrite, each order is $32.84, which covers two healthy portions.

Hundreds of thousands of people have fled Ukraine since Russia invaded last week.

Canada has said it will prepare to provide asylum to those fleeing violence in Ukraine.
