A man was arrested following a bear spraying last weekend at a North Shore restaurant, but he won’t face charges.
Mounties were called to a restaurant in the 600-block of Fortune Drive just before 7 p.m. on Jan. 7 for a report of a man having been bear sprayed as part of an altercation involving a number of people.
The man’s backpack was stolen during the melee.
“A description of the suspects was provided and two were quickly apprehended nearby,” RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.
According to Mounties, a third suspect was arrested a short time later after returning to the restaurant to give the backpack back to the victim.
“The victim did not wish to pursue charges,” Evelyn said.
“The suspect was released without charge recommendation.”
