Visitor restrictions lifted at Royal Inland Hospital as remaining outbreaks declared over

RIH outbreaks declared over

The three remaining COVID-19 outbreaks at Royal Inland Hospital have been declared over and, as a result, Interior Health has lifted visitor restrictions at the facility.

Restrictions were put in place at RIH on Nov. 10. At the time, three concurrent outbreaks had been declared in the hospital, and a fourth was added a few days later. Rules required visitors to provide proof of vaccination and limited visitor numbers.

On Thursday, IH said all outbreaks had ended.

“The public is advised all remaining outbreaks at Royal Inland Hospital have been declared over and, as a result, temporary visitor restrictions have been lifted effective immediately,” IH said in a bulletin sent to media.

“COVID-19 safety restrictions such as medical masking, vaccination requirements and COVID-19 screening remain in place.”
