Kamloops Film Society to sell thousands of VHS tapes

KFS to host VHS tape sale

Thousands of VHS tapes will be available to purchase at the Paramount Theatre this week.

The Kamloops Film Society announced it would be hosting the sale after sorting through stock purchased from former video rental business MovieMart this summer.

In a statement, KFS said it has been busy organizing and sorting the 25,000 films from MovieMart with the help of Serena Fehr, the film society’s new video store supervisor.

“To start, we’re doing a VHS sale,” KFS said.

“Come one, come all and grab your vintage, cool, quirky and unique finds.”

The Paramount Theatre will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday for those looking to indulge in nostalgia or add to their film collection.

In August, KFS announced it had purchased MovieMart, moving the collection of films over to the theatre.

Dusan Magdolen, executive director for KFS, told Castanet in an earlier interview the society is getting set up to open a rental store inside the Paramount Theatre, with some duplicate films put up for sale.
