Another weapons complaint on West Victoria Street draws police

Cops on W. Victoria again

For the second time in as many days, a weapons complaint has drawn a heavy police presence to West Victoria Street.

A man was arrested just after noon on Friday after Mounties were called to assist CP Rail police with a man armed with a knife.

“Following a high-risk takedown, a Kamloops man was taken into custody,” RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.

“The Kamloops RCMP detachment is investigating and no further information is available at this time.”

Just before noon on Thursday, Mounties were called to the same stretch of West Victoria Street for a report of a woman armed with a knife.

A woman was arrested, then later released after investigators failed to locate a weapon.

Any witnesses are asked to call police at 250-828-3000.
