Interior Health says school-based vaccination clinics in the region are going ahead.
A clinic at a school in Kamloops on Wednesday was rescheduled due to an “unforeseen staffing matter which has now been resolved,” said the health authority.
“Going forward the Interior Health in-school vaccination clinics' schedule will continue as planned. Anyone aged 12 and older is also encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible by dropping in to any of our vaccine clinics throughout the region,” IH said in a statement to Castanet.
Focus has been drawn to school-based clinics after the superintendent of the North Okanagan-Shuswap School District announced Friday that anti-vaccine protesters had entered schools in Salmon Arm, forcing lockdowns and drawing widespread condemnation.
School districts elsewhere in B.C., including in Kelowna, have made preparations for similar incidents.
