City of Kamloops looking to fund organizations, projects that address social, community needs

City to give out grant funds

The City of Kamloops is inviting non-profit organizations to apply for additional funding made available through the 2021 Social and Community Development Grant.

According to a statement from the city, it is looking to fund organizations will work to address priorities laid out in the Kamloops Social Plan, including affordable and supportive housing, alternative transportation, youth outreach services and food security.

According to the city, the deadline to apply is Oct. 6, and final awards will be announced publicly in November.

Applicants must demonstrate that they will strengthen the community’s well being, improve the agency’s capacity to meet specific needs and will address community issues and concerns.

Funding up to $33,000 is available, according to the city, and can be used for operational costs, special projects or seed money for a special social enterprise initiative.

Interested parties can submit their applications through the City of Kamloops website.
