Convoy of emergency vehicles transports body of drowned Kamloops fire captain

Convoy brings body home

Kamloops Fire Rescue Capt. Brian Lannon’s body is home.

On Thursday, a convoy of emergency vehicles traveled west on Highway 1.

Police said the vehicles had their lights on in honour of Lannon, whose body was being transported back to Kamloops.

Lannon went missing on May 15 while recreationally diving near the W.R. Bennett Bridge in Kelowna.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue and Kelowna RCMP searched the area along the bridge, where Lannon was last seen, for 12 days.

Lannon's body was spotted by a member of the public on morning of June 1, in the water just south of where he had been diving.
