Some Kamloops golf courses have officially opened their doors for the season

Tee off times now open

It’s the first week of March and that means golf is back in Kamloops.

As of Thursday, March 4, three clubs have opened their doors to the public, and they’ve seen just how much locals have missed golf.

“We got 165 people out yesterday, which is almost double of what we did opening day last year,” Kevin Oates, General Manager of Rivershore Estate & Golf Links told Castanet Kamloops.

“Last year our opening day was March the 5th, and this year it was March the 4th. Anytime we open the first week of March would be normal, so we’re right on schedule.”

The Dunes at Kamloops were the first to open as of Tuesday, March 2, followed closely by Rivershore on March 4. Mt Paul is also open, and busy.

Bighorn is having a contest to reveal when people can tee off, and Kamloops Golf and Country Club announced via Twitter that they will open on March 12.

Tobiano’s website says they are set to open on April 2, and Pineridge told Castanet Kamloops they will open “hopefully Monday."

With the COVID-19 pandemic, golf courses saw a lot more action last year, and they anticipate the same this season.

“Memberships were up, number of rounds were up, green tee play was up, every category that we have was significantly up,” Oates said.
