A Kamloops woman is all smiles after winning $50,000 on a scratch-and-win ticket.
Julie Severn bought a Platinum Fortunes ticket at the Westsyde gas and convenience store, according to a BC Lottery Corporation press release, and decided to scratch it right away.
“I had just bought my tickets and I found out right there at the store,” says Severn in the press release. “I couldn't believe it. As soon as I knew I was a winner, I was a ball of nerves. I had to call my husband from the car and made him come into the store. I didn't want to do the excitement alone. He was freaking out and was very excited.”
This isn't the first time Severn has had luck with a scratch-and-win ticket. She won $21,000 in 2003.
She's planning on putting her winnings towards retirement plans.
