Kamloops vehicle stop leads to hard drugs bust

Car jumper led to drug bust

On Saturday night around 9 p.m. an RCMP officer spotted a vehicle on a frontage road, and saw a woman trying to get out of the passenger side when the vehicle was still moving.

The frontage road was near the Trans-Canada Highway East near Kamloops, and the officer pulled the car over right away. When the driver got out of the vehicle, the police noticed a container in the man's pocket that looked like illegal drugs.

The man was arrested, and a knife was found on his person. When the vehicle was searched, there was bear spray in plain sight. The officer also seized a stolen laptop and over 300 grams of drugs believed to be fentanyl, crystal meth and cocaine.

The evidence found has been sent to the Federal Prosecution Service to determine if, or what, charges will be laid.
