Kamloops RCMP are looking into suspicious death.

Kamloops RCMP are investigating a homicide after human remains were found in the North Shore area.

Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay said on Friday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m., police were called to Carson Crescent for a report of suspicious circumstances.

Police attended the scene, spoke with several witness and conducted an initial investigation which led to the discovery of human remains.

The Kamloops Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and are seeking help from the public in advancing this case.

"A body was found near the alley running behind 170 Carson Crescent. We are at the very early stages of this investigation. We do know this is a criminal matter and not someone who simply died from exposure,” said Pillay. “The identity, gender, age, race are all unknown at this early stage. We expect there are witnesses out there who may be able to help us. We are asking anyone with information about who this person is to please contact Kamloops RCMP."
