Adventurer in Kamloops

The National Geographic Adventurer of the Year will be speaking in Kamloops next week.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional Library will be hosting athlete, author and speaker Jennifer Pharr Davis at the Merritt Library July 16 at 6 p.m. and the Kamloops Library July 17 at 6 p.m.

Pharr Davis has logged more than 14,000 miles of long-distance trails on six different continents.

In 2011, she set the overall fastest known time on the Appalachian Trail by hiking 47 miles a day for 46 straight days.

Pharr Davis will be sharing slides and stories, answering questions, and selling and signing copies of her new book, The Pursuit of Endurance: Harnessing the Record Breaking Power of Strength and Resilience, which Kirkus Reviews calls “a captivating narrative guidebook that will inspire readers to test their own limits, on the trail and off”.

More information about Jennifer can be found online.

This event is free but seating is limited. To register please contact the library at 250-372-5145 or [email protected].

The event will also be live-streamed via the TNRL Facebook page.
