Murder suspect arrested

UPDATE 2:08 p.m.

A man wanted for murder has been arrested in Kamloops.

Gordie Wayne Braaten was arrested this afternoon at a residence on Cree Drive on Tk’emlups reserve.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said Braaten was wanted for the murder of Jason Glover on Feb. 15 on Tranquille Road. Hugh Alexander McIntosh, also wanted for the murder of Glover, was arrested last week in Langley.

“Investigation led Kamloops RCMP to Braaten’s location on Cree Drive earlier today. Braaten was believed to be armed and dangerous so the Southeast District Emergency Team was called in to assist. Braaten was arrested without incident,” said Shelkie.

“Cree Drive still has limited access as police complete their investigation. Kamloops RCMP thanks the surrounding residents for their co-operation during this event.”
