Mom dreams of missing son

The mother of a missing man who vanished from Sun Peak Resort one year ago today dreamed of her son. 

Ryan Shtuka, 20, was last seen leaving a house party on Burfield Drive early in the morning on Feb. 17. His residence was just a short one kilometre away but he vanished, never to be seen again.

His family is honouring him this weekend in Sun Peaks Resort and a vigil is to be held tonight in the village. 

“My heart is shattered,” said Heather Shtuka. “I dreamed this morning that I saw him.”

In her dream, her son walked into the house and the cry she gave pierced her soul. 

“I held him tight afraid to let go... breathing in his smell, feeling his arms wrap around me, hearing him tell me how much he missed me as his tears and mine fell.”

And then he was gone.”

The search for Ryan has touched many people across the world and a Facebook group with almost 30,000 people keep searching for Ryan.
