Savour the Sun on the slopes

It is promising to be one of the hottest tickets in the Southern Interior, even if the event is on top of a mountain. 

The inaugural Savour the Sun festival will take place at Sun Peaks Resort this weekend (Dec. 7-9).

A partnership between Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country and Sun Peaks Resort, the weekend will bring some of the region’s most celebrated winemakers to the popular mountain destination all anchored together by three signature evening events.  

The festival weekend kick-starts with Savour the Sun at Sunburst on Friday, Dec. 7 — a ski-in-ski-out, mid-mountain reception that will focus on private collection, hard-to-find wines presented and poured by the winemaker. 

Wine tastings will be paired with delicious food stations. 

For those looking for a more informal evening, Savour Bubbles is a progressive-style tasting at Masa’s Bar & Grill focusing on sparkling wines and terroir expressive varietals from nine Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country winemakers.

Carefully selected wines will perfectly pair with the international flavours prepared by the Sun Peaks culinary team, a great way to kick off a weekend of food, wine and ski.

And then on Saturday,  Dec. 8th, Uncork Your Senses at The Annex rounds out the weekend. This elegant evening of food and wine will feature 12 of the region’s most respected wineries. 

Explore a cornucopia of food and wine while discovering the diversity of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country and the BC culinary scene. 

Now lovers can spend the day on the slopes before savouring rare finds and terroir expressive wines, paired with delicious food by the Sun Peaks culinary team.
