Traffic is now moving, albeit slowly, on the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Kamloops.

A vehicle fire near Kamloops has shut down westbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway.
A driver stuck in traffic says the incident happened west of the city, just past the weigh scales, near the junction with the Coquihalla Highway.
The vehicle involved appears to be a pickup, and the fire is now out, says the witness.
Firefighters and an ambulance are on scene, although it's not known if anyone was hurt in the blaze, which sent thick, black smoke towering over the highway.
Traffic is backed up significantly.
