More than 1,600 BC Hydro customers are without power in Kamloops due to a vehicle accident late Thursday morning.
Police say that a vehicle drove into a power pole near Rayleigh on Highway 5. The impact caused power lines to break and drop to the ground.
Currently, one southbound lane on Highway 5 near Rayleigh is closed while BC Hydro workers complete repairs.
It is unknown how long this lane will be closed.
Minor injuries were reported from the vehicle impact.
