Crash involves 8 people

A vehicle carrying eight people lost control Saturday evening in Kamloops.

Emergency crews responded to a crash just before 10 p.m. on Highway 5 near Inks Lake Road.

A northbound vehicle lost control and rolled into the median of the highway.

Several passengers were injured and needed medical treatment. All eight occupants were transported to hospital.

Highway 5 southbound lanes were temporarily closed but quickly reopened to single lane traffic.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by Central Interior Traffic Services in conjunction with an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.
