Beware fake $50 bills

Counterfeit American money is making the rounds in Kamloops.

RCMP warn that three businesses have been passed fake $50 U.S. bills this past week.

In all cases, a woman used the counterfeit money to purchase items.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, about five feet six inches tall. 

A week ago, the suspect had blonde and blue hair. A few days ago, she had black hair and was wearing glasses.  The woman carries a distinctive black handbag that has silver studs or grommets on one side.

Police remind all businesses to review counterfeit detection techniques with employees and let staff know it is within their right to refuse any cash payment if they suspect it might be counterfeit.
