Officer charged with assault

A Kamloops RCMP officer has been charged with assault causing bodily harm in connection with an August incident while he was on duty.

Const. Joedy Todd Henderson was charged Wednesday and is expected to first appear in court on Jan. 11, for the Aug. 25, 2017 incident.

“The charge was approved by an experienced Crown counsel who is located in a different area of the province than the officer under investigation, and who has no prior or current connection with this officer,” said Dan McLaughlin, communications with the BC Prosecution Service.

No other information about the incident that led to the charge has been released.
