RCMP have arrested the driver of a BMW after he lost control and drove into a three-storey apartment building in Kamloops.
The black sedan was travelling west on the 1600 block of Tranquille Road about 5:35 a.m. on Sunday when it struck the building.
According to police, the collision caused extensive damage to the ground floor unit, and two small children in a bedroom suffered minor injuries from debris.
The children were taken to hospital as a precaution, and a structural engineer is assessing the building.
The 26-year-old man faces allegations of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and was also breaching a conditional sentence order under the Criminal Code of Canada.
He will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
