A speeding driver picked the wrong time to put the pedal to the metal.
Kamloops RCMP pulled over the speeder shortly after 3 a.m. today on the Trans-Canada Highway near Peterson Creek Bridge.
A strong odour of marijuana inside the vehicle led the arresting officer to discover 75 pounds of the drug stashed in two hockey bags.
Police are recommending charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking against the 58-year-old male driver.
The investigation continues, said Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Cheryl Bush.
