
A body has been discovered on a sand bar, northwest of Kamloops.
Kamloops RCMP say the body was discovered in the South Thompson River, west of the Tranquille farm area, Thursday afternoon.
Police are now working with the B.C. Coroners Service to investigate the death.
They are not commenting on the identity of the person or the cause of death at this time. They are also not saying whether or not the death is suspicious.
Once the body was discovered, Cpl. Cheryl Bush says RCMP were transported to the area by a Kamloops Fire and Rescue boat.
The Coroners Service attended and was assisted by Kamloops Fire and Rescue in the removal of the deceased.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
