Too much to do

Too much to do, no time to do it.

Yes, life is like a toilet roll, the closer you get to the end the faster it goes.

Christmas is like that too. One of the largest most commercialized events of the year is upon us again. If you are anything like me, your head has been down working and you come up from a thick fog and realize it is time to do a little shopping.

I joked with my wife this year and said I am going to Oliver to do my Christmas shopping this year. She asked why would I go there and my answer was simple - all the people in Oliver are probably coming here. I can sit down at a lovely winery, enjoy a glass of wine and select some interesting and unique gifts in total peace and quiet. It seems more reminiscent of what Christmas should be.

Oh well, nice idea. I likely will end up in some mad panic over the next day or two doing some typical ‘guy’ power-shopping.

If you remember my MITs (Most Important Tasks) from my column a few weeks ago I was planning on doing a lot of skiing.

For Christmas, my MITs are ~

Spend time with the family

XC ski daily

Eat less food than I normally do at Christmas

Read a book

Take time to be distracted

Well, so far, my family has been too busy working, I have been out skiing a couple of times but  caught an ugly ‘flu, I have probably eaten enough food for Christmas already, I haven’t even ordered a book, and I have no time to be distracted.

Seems like my new years resolutions should be in regard to better time management - how about you?
