Staying fit for Breast Cancer awareness

Curves, the largest fitness club chain in the world for women and a leader in the weight management category, announced that in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, residents of Kelowna and the Westside are invited to purchase a $10 punch card for 10 workouts at Curves with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to BC Breast Cancer Research.

The 10 workouts can be done in honor of someone who has battled breast cancer and a poster will be up in the Club for each participant to sign as a way to show community support.

“The Curves mission is to strengthen women and this promotion helps us do just that,” says Leah Thordarson, owner of the Westbank location.

“The punch card is a fun way for women to get involved and help punch out cancer, but it also gives us the opportunity to teach the importance of exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy weight. After all, 30 minutes of ‘me’ time is always a good thing.”
